Scholarships

The government offers scholarships to support students continuing to tertiary education in Mauritius and abroad. This page explains who can apply and how.

Warning Applications close on 31 August 2026. Late applications are not accepted.

How to apply

  1. Check you are eligible

    You must be a citizen of Mauritius, have completed your HSC, and meet the minimum grade requirements.

  2. Prepare your documents

    You will need your National Identity Card, HSC certificate and a passport-size photograph.

  3. Apply online

    Complete and submit the application form through the e-Services portal before the deadline.

  4. Attend an interview

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview. You will be notified by email.

You can apply for more than one scholarship, but you must submit a separate application for each.
Help — am I eligible?

You can usually apply if you:

  • are a citizen of Mauritius;
  • have completed your Higher School Certificate (HSC);
  • do not already hold a government scholarship.

If you are unsure, contact the scholarships office before the deadline.
